Carpet Cleaning
When you are choosing a carpet cleaner there are many factors besides price that need consideration. You should ask the companies you are considering if they have any training and certifications. Ask to see credentials to verify certification. You also should informally interview all technicians you are considering hiring. Questions to ask include; what methods they use, what services are included in the quoted price, what solutions are used in each type of service, and what additional services might the representative offer at the time of service. In addition ask family and friends for recommendations. When receiving an estimate be sure to get it in writing and make sure you obtain a copy of all documents including contracts, invoices, guarantees and warranties. Typically you can expect a carpet cleaning professional to provide the following services: Dry soil removal through vacuuming, Soil Suspension using chemicals, heat, agitation and time, Soil extraction using the hot water extraction method or wet or dry vacuuming, grooming which creates an even appearance of the carpet, and finally drying. After services are rendered, the carpet should typically dry within 6-8 hours, not to exceed 24 hours. Failure of the professional to implement drying procedures could lead to bacteria and re-soiling problems. There are independent certification bodies that monitor this industry and hold companies to specified standards. The BBB suggests you check with these bodies to verify company’s certifications.
