Carpet and Fabric Protectors:
Carpet and Fabric Protectors are designed to provide a protective barrier to keep spills from staining the fibers and to keep soil from sticking to the carpet or upholstery. Routine vacuuming will remove more soil because dirt won't get embedded into the fibers. Your carpet will stay clean longer, will wear better and will last longer when you have a protector applied. All of the Protectors that we use are approved for use on Stain Resist Carpets. For best results, the protector should be applied after each cleaning.
DuPont™ Advanced Teflon® is one of the more common types of protectors. It is a water based protector and is very effective at keeping stains and soil out of the fibers of the material. Since it is mixed with water prior to application, it may slightly increase the drying time after cleaning. It is designed to protect equally well against water based spots and spills as oil based spots and spills. If the texture or appearance of the carpet is changed in any way after applying DuPont™ Advanced Teflon® just vacuum your carpet to return it to it's original state. It is recommended that this product be reapplied after each cleaning for maximum performance.
Sta-Clene® Formula 940 with Elexon™ is our most popular carpet and fabric protector. It is effective on carpet because it is more abraision resistant so it stands up to more traffic. It is especially effective on upholstery because it stretches with the fabric so it doesn't crack or peel off. It provides greater protection against water based and oil based stains. This product is not mixed with water so it doesn't increase the drying time after cleaning. it actually evaporates quicker and reduces the drying time. Again, it is recommended that Sta-Clene® Formula 940 be reapplied after every cleaning to make sure your carpet and upholstery stay cleaner and wear better over a longer period of time.
